With the ambition of inculcating principles and values of bioethics in Health care providers, we at Dr. D.Y. Patil Vidyapeeth had seen the establishment of the first Students’ wing of Bioethics established in the country, on 16th march 2015, and so far we have seen immense success at national and international level.

The DPU Unit of Bioethics: UNESCO Chair in Haifa was established on 18th March, 2015.The enthusiasm, active participation and innovative ideas given by students and faculty alike, led to the reestablishment of DPU Unit, under International Chair in Bioethics, on 12th August, 2022 at the hands of Dr. Russell Dsouza, Director Department of Education ,Melbourne ,Australia.Every year students and faculty of all colleges in Vidyapeeth gather to celebrate the new ideologies in bioethics and spread awareness about the same.I am impressed by the enthusiasm, participation, innovative ideas by students. It gives me immense pleasure to see them work for such a virtuous cause.I consider myself fortunate enough to be leading as Secretary of the steering committee of our bioethics unit. Working with my fellow faculty members; guiding the students to implement the teachings of bioethics and thereby giving my contribution for this noble cause renders me overwhelmed.

We at DPU believe in the overall development of enthusiastic students & faculties, imparting the knowledge and skills, utilising the young innovative minds, making them responsible citizens of the country.

This DPU unit of Bioethics helps establish and improve faculty-student interaction. It also provides a platform for students to embibe knowledge and develop skills like time management, team work and leadership skills as well.

The Vidyapeeth through its wide range of professional programs seeks development of highly skilled youth in the health care sector and Bioethics unit is playing a crucial role in this endeavour. We pledge to keep working for this righteous cause every year.
